MAMIE RUTH FUNCHESS
On February 2, 1953, in Crystal Springs Mississippi, Mamie Ruth Funchess was born to the late Charlie Funchess and Mamie Ruth Funchess.
Early in life, she gave her life to Christ and enrolled in Turner Chapel AME Church. Jackson State University is where she earned her master's degree. Until her retirement, she was employed by the Mt. Sinai Head Center.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Funchess and Luke Funchess, and a sister, Rosemary Skipper.
Those left to cherish her memory are: one son, Telly Funchess of Pflugerille, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Funchess of Crystal Springs, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Damien Alexander, Raven Joyner and Makaylah Powell; seven sisters, Ruby Edmonds (Ed) of Peoria Illinois, Delores Gustavis (Major) of Gallman, Mississippi, Patricia Robertson of Woodbridge, Virginia, Elease Murry (Robert) of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Malisa Crump of Jackson, Mississippi, Paulette Funchess of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Angela Ledlow (Joey) of Flora, Mississippi; two brothers, Roosevelt Funchess of Hazlehurst, Mississipp and Kimble Funchess (Julia) of Madison, Mississippi and a special friend, Edward Bogan of Florence, Mississippi.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
