Larry B. Adams, known affectionately as "Sweatdog," passed away on December 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love. Born on March 21, 1964, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Larry was the son of Woodrow and Melissa Adams. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Larry attended Crystal Springs High School and proudly received his diploma in 1982. Later on, he continued his studies at Hinds Community College. After completing his education, Larry embarked on a fulfilling career at Seabrook Paint Company where he dedicated himself for an impressive 19 years.
Larry will always be remembered for his unique nickname "Sweatdog." This nickname perfectly captured his energetic and lively spirit. He had a vivacious personality and enjoyed brightening up any room with his presence. Larry possessed an infectious sense of humor and was known for talking smack with a twinkle in his eye.
One of Larry's favorite pastimes was reminiscing about the good old days. He could spend hours regaling his nieces and nephews with stories from his youth. His animated storytelling would transport everyone back in time as he shared tales of mischief and adventure. Larry's warm heart shone through as he playfully bragged about how he used to "maul their heads" when they were children.
On February 19, 2010, Larry entered Holy Matrimony with the love of his life, Shelver. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. From this union came seven wonderful children who were their pride and joy.
Larry's passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him best. He will be deeply missed by his wife Shelver, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His six daughters Chiquita Powell, Tequila Adams, Lasherinikius Adams, Aireanna Adams, Shanicquianica Adams, and Zakaybriella Adams, along with his son Daration Adams, will forever cherish the love and guidance he shared.
Larry's family was of utmost importance to him. His three brothers Curtis Adams, Rite Dell Adams Sr. (Rosa), and Calvin Adams, as well as his sisters Rudean Adams, Geraldine Adams-Thompson, and Janice Adams, mourn the loss of their dear brother. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Melissa Adams, as well as his three brothers Woodrow Adams Jr., Roosevelt Adams, James Adams, and three sisters Mosetta Gurly, Mary Brown, and Naomi Freemon.
Larry's legacy extends beyond the borders of his immediate family. His memory will be forever cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. He touched the lives of so many with his generosity, compassion, and vibrant personality.
To honor Larry's life and pay tribute to the impact he had on those around him, two services have been arranged. The first is a Visitation scheduled for December 15th at Heritage Funeral Services in Terry, Mississippi. Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM to share cherished memories and offer comfort to one another.
The second service is a Celebration of Life which will take place on December 16th at Greater Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. Starting at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, loved ones will come together to celebrate Larry's life and the imprint he left on their hearts.
