GARY CHRISTOPHER FLOYD
Psalm 23:1-6:The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
Gary Christopher Floyd was born the eleventh child to Annie Ruth & Harry Lee Floyd, Sr. on April 14, 1970 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
At an early age, he joined Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and later became a member of Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church .
Gary was a 1989 graduate of Crystal Springs High School, but he still had strong ties with his original class of 1988.
Gary was a multifaceted craftsman who continued to share his skills with others. He was the unsolicited Boss/Daddy to all 25 of his nieces and nephews. He also managed 50 great nieces and nephews. He was the biggest LSU fan this side of town! Once he became unable to work, he became the “Family Switch Board Operator”. No one could spread the word/news quicker thane he could. He would tell you to call the next person & tell them, only for them to say “Gary already told me.” He had a bad habit of calling you & demanding you turn your television to what he wanted you to see & proceeded to tell you all about it at the same time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Ruth Jordan Floyd; siblings, Keith Floyd, Brenda Benson, Annette Floyd and Jimmie Floyd; mother-in-law, Glenda Lee and brother-in-law, Robert Evans, Jr.
Gary is survived by a devoted wife, Nancy Lee Floyd; bonus granddaughter, Sincere Lee-his heart since birth; bonus kids, Bobby Lee of Memphis, TN, Jimmie Brown of Madison, MS, Charlotte Lee of Memphis, TN, Keith Caster of Memphis, TN, Kylia Lee of Jackson, MS and a God-daughter, Lashae Caldwell of Jackson, MS; his father, Harry Lee Floyd, Sr.; father-in-law, DeLen Lee (Shelia) of Jackson, MS; brothers, Harry Lee Floyd, Jr. (Shelia), Kenneth Floyd (Nathea), Cliff Floyd (Jacqueline) all of Crystal Springs, MS, Paul Floyd of Tutwiler, MS, Lawrence Thompson (Willena) of Hillsboro, MO; sisters, Linda Braddy (Jimmie Lee, Sr.) of Crystal Springs, MS, Luvenia Floyd Jordan of Jackson, MS and Chiquitta Evans of Crystal Springs, MS; brothers-in-law, Howard Benson of Crystal Springs, MS, Michael Lee of Virginia and DeLen Lee of Jackson, MS; sisters-in-law, Victoria Anderson of Jackson, MS, LaQuita Whitten of Alabama and Allison Lee of Jackson, MS; two special cousins, Arthur James (Pete) whom he served as his own personal chauffeur and Willie B. Harris-his personal daily confidant and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
~Psalm 121: 1-2 ~
