Elder Eugene Greenfield was born June 2, 1945. Elder Eugene Greenfield was called to ministry in the summer of 1976. He preached his first sermon at Jones Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Henry L. Hankins. Two years later, Elder Greenfield migrated to Faith Tabernacle in Canton, MS. here he was filled with the Holy Ghost on March 12, 1976, and was ordained as an elder in 1980. Elder Eugene & Missionary Lillie Greenfield joined Refuge Temple Church in 1989. In 2004, the couple joined Community Empowerment being very active in the ministry until their death.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Eugene Greenfield Sr., Daisy Washington Greenfield, brothers; Elijah Greenfield, Charlie Greenfield, John Greenfield, and sister; Ernestine G. McDade, sons; Jerry Hardman, and Willie Greenfield; daughters Sylvia Crook and Patty Banks. He was wedded to the love of his life, the late Lille Mae Banks Greenfield for 42 years. To this union they raised 13 children. Eugene leaves to cherish, Donnie Hardman, Brenda Roberts (Gerald), Gloria Boles, Marilyn Jones, Beverlyn Demus (Michael), Vanessa Caston (David), Shelia Banks, Eugene Greenfield III, Jimmy Herbert, Jr., six sisters: Bessie Owdley, Gladys Ellis, Bernice Thompson, Lois Carr, Heitience Moncure (Roy), Linda Brown (Ralph) and one brother that stuck by him to the end: Nelson Greenfield (Carmen); 34 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 1 soon to be great-great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. While his heart was broken, he did find love again and married (preceded in death) Maxine Simpson.
