“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

De’Angelo LaKeats Kelly was born on May 06, 1974, at the University Hospital in Jackson, MS.  He was born to Mary Jean Kelly and Darrell Keats Thompson. De’Angelo departed this life November 22, 2023, in Crystal Springs, MS.

De’Angelo Kelly was the oldest of four children born to Mary Jean Kelly, and the only child of Darrell Keats Thompson.  “Dee,” as he was lovingly known by all that knew him, was never seen without a big beautiful smile.  He loved to joke around and keep the good times rolling.  All of his life, Dee was Jean’s most curious child. That curiosity lent itself to his favorite hobbies, traveling and fishing. Dee loved spending hours on any fishing bank he could find, and because he loved traveling, he could name you a fishing spot anywhere you could think of.

Willie V. Kelly (maternal grandmother) ensured Dee not only knew God, but also had a relationship with God.  As a child, Willie V. would take De’Angelo to church every Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  Dee would often reminisce about his grandmother taking him, and how he loved going as a young boy, because the church would serve “these big ole hamburgers and fries” after service. De’Angelo was a praying man who loved God, Mary Jean, and all of his family & friends.

De’Angelo leaves behind, to cherish his wonderful and loving memories: mother, Mary Jean Kelly Crystal Springs, MS; father Darrell Keats Thompson (Sally) Jackson, MS; daughter, Kiara Gardner, Houston, TX; Patricia Kelly (wife) Dallas, TX; siblings, Latron Donnell Kelly (Alma) Crystal Springs, MS; Larry Lamont Kelly (Leigh-Ann) Jackson, MS; Ebony Kelly-Brown (Paul), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
