Inez Hicks Davis was born January 27, 1945, to the late Clifton and Artimessia Hicks in Crystal Springs, Mississippi and was the nineth of eleven children.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Gallman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where she served as deaconess. She carried a deep love for her church, family, and friends.
Inez received her education at the William Henry Holtzclaw Negro High School. After graduation, she attained employment at Bernstein Shirt Factory from 1965 until 1984. She also worked at Mississippi Industry for the Blind and Belhaven College.
Inez was united in holy matrimony to Garland Davis. They were blessed to rear two children. Garland precedes her in death. Inez in her pastime, enjoyed cooking, watching soap operas and In the Heat of the Night, She also loved to embroidery pillowcases and other arts and crafts. Inez had an eye for interior design and she bedazzled in jewelry. She also enjoyed dancing, sand was known for being light on her feet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Artimessia Hicks: siblings, Carrie, Pauline, Pearline, Benjamin, James, and John.
She is survived by two daughters, Senetra Murray and Trilly Hicks both of Crystal Springs, Mississippi; one sister, Edna Mae Hicks of Red Bank, New Jersey; three brothers; Elder Jimmie (Eunice) Hicks and Lamar Hicks and friend, Minnie Little, of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Terrance Hicks, Long Branch, New Jersey, and four grandchildren: Annarenasantatina, Christopher Jr., Clifton Jr., and Malcom Xavier; three great grandchildren: Armond, Damonta, Journee, Crystal Springs, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
