Bruce Andrews

Bruce Sterling Andrews was born to the late Mr. Wilbert and Johnnie Mae Andrews both of Florence, Mississippi.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, God called Bruce home to rest from his earthly life to his Heavenly Home. Bruce accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Florence High School Class of 1980, where he was an outstanding football player. Education was very important to him and he played no games with his children about school. 

Bruce was a hardworking man who loved God and his family, he enjoyed working and fixing on things, fishing, playing chess and cards. He also loved music. Bruce was married from 1982-2008 to Edith Andrews, four children was born out of this union. Soon he married Angela Catchings-Andrews on August 8, 2009, no children became of this union, but he treated her three children as his own. 

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Johnnie Mae Andrews; four brothers, Charles Edward Andrews (infant), Wilbert Andrews, Jr., J.C. Andrews and Lennel (Sandra) Andrews; two sisters, Bobbie Andrews -Smith and Dorothy (Bobby) Andrews-Cox.

Bruce leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife, Angela Catchings-Andrews of Crystal Springs, MS; four sons, Bruce (Laura) Andrews Jr. of Tickfaw, LA, Quincy Purvis of McComb, MS, Sedrick (LaCresha) Andrews of McComb, MS and Derrick Andrews of McComb, MS; three stepchildren, LaChandra (Tan) Walker, Johnathan Catchings, JC (Halfpint) Catchings; three brothers, Gilbert Andrews of Byram, MS, Johnny Andrews of Florence, MS, and Milton (Bobby) Andrews of Kalamazoo, MI; two sisters, Bettie (David) Andrews Lewis of Florence, MS, his “Big Sis” Evelyn Harper of Florence, MS; twenty one grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, aunts, uncles and friends.
